Solaris Becomes a Member of the US Green Building Council
Solaris Paper has become a member of the US Green Building Council (USGBC). Solaris Paper can now help building owners and opeators to attain the LEED certification. USGBC manages the Leadershp in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System. This system is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED and LEED-EB gives building owners and operators the tools that need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings' performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health; sustainable sit development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality. LEED for Existing Buildings (LEED-EB) maximize operational efficiency while minimizng environmental impacts. It provides a recognized, performance-based benchmark for building owners and operators to measure opertaions, improvements and maintenance on a consistent scale.
