Solaris Paper Inc. is a tissue paper converting company focused on facial tissues, kitchen towels, and bath tissue. The Production Supervisor will provide overall supervision of production output targets in a responsible, safe and efficient manner while maintaining quality levels in line with the Company and Customer standards.

Education and Experience Background:

  • College Degree preferred
  • Associate degree qualifications or equivalent recognized apprenticeship
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading/writing English

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated leadership and Decision making skills and a minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory or related experience
  • Ability to demonstrate and promote the safety culture of the Company and adhere to safe working practices at all times
  • Ability to understand individual responsibilities and take a pro-active lead in management of Health & Safety on the shop floor
  • Understand operating principles of line equipment
  • Have basic Computer and Mechanical skills
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of paper grades
  • Good Communication, Literacy and Numeric skills
  • Have knowledge and understanding of quality systems
  • Ability to use problem-solving process to develop solutions appropriate when dealing with production and quality issues while at work

Responsibilities:

  • Direct, coordinate, and oversee the entire production process on a designated shift
  • Check hourly production progress and investigate production problems to ensure efficient operation
  • Monitors jobs to insure quality and compliance with job standards
  • Coaches and Enforces plant safety regulations and good housekeeping practices
  • Schedules hourly employees to tasks according to type, operation, and skill set
  • Coordinates jobs with other production areas
  • Ensures adequate supplies are available to accomplish various jobs
  • Maintain appropriate production logs and reports
  • Inform production management of all key issues regarding maintenance and machine efficiencies
  • Train, develop, and evaluate the production team
  • Monitor and minimize temporary labor when possible
  • On the off shifts, responsible for maintenance work orders, checking out parts, saving the old parts and ensuring parts room is closed at all times when not present
  • Other special projects as assigned
